A Wholistic Program for Rapidly Assessing, Building & Coaching Great Teams!

What is Rapid Team Formation (RTF)?

Research suggests that 60% of a team’s effectiveness is based on how well the team is designed, 30% on how well the team is launched and 10% on the team coaching that the team receives. Rapid Team Formation helps teams quickly form and create the conditions and a winning design for success. This dynamic program challenges teams to tap into 5 Knowledge Centers (rational, affective, intuitive, passionate, tactile) + Nature (i.e. environment & context) that quickly releases the team’s full potential. The RTF program can be completed in 1½ to 3 days and can also be part of a 3 to 6 month team coaching engagement. (Note: is offered in both classroom as well is an innovative and dynamic off-shore format on a Tall Ship over the course of 3+ days)

#5) The essential individual and team coaching skills required for keeping the team on track and proactively adapting to its environment.

3 Program Components

The RTF program can be delivered in 1½ to 3 day formats and can also include ongoing team coaching over 3 to 6 months. Following are the 3 program components:

#1. Assess: the team is assessed on its current state through a flexible mix of discovery interviews as well as through an online team assessment. Alignment with the team leader and/or sponsor occurs to provide a clear performance context for the team.

#2. Build: the team participates in a 1½-3days RTF workshop to form as a team. During this workshop the team creates the conditions for high performance and forms as a unit that is more than the sum of its parts. The team emerges from the workshop with shared purpose, direction, focus, a winning formula and essential coaching skills.

#3. Coach: the team develops a coaching plan to accelerate its ongoing learning, performance and proactive engagement of the operating environment. The coaching plan may include ongoing coaching by an external/internal team coach, team leader or through self-coaching.

FORMATS

Rapid Team Formation is currently offered in 2 formats: 1) a classroom-based format and 2) an off-shore format aboard a tall ship

The Classroom-Based format provides maximum flexibility for conducting the program in retreat centers, corporate training rooms, hotel meeting rooms, etc…  A unique aspect of RTF is helping participants get in tune with how the environment (i.e. nature, physical space, organizational context, virtual, etc…) shapes and influences team dynamics.  Teams learn how to use whatever environment they are in to their advantage.  Classroom-Based formats also provide for adapting the program to various lengths (e.g. 1.5 days, 2 days, 3 days etc…).  RTF can be combined with ongoing team coaching over 4-6 months in order to provide each team with the right balance of challenge, support and accountability.

The Off-Shore Tall Ship format provides a one-of-a-kind experience out in nature.  As it is commonly said aboard the ship: “You can’t hide who you are on the ship.  Who you are as an individual and as a team comes to the surface.”  RTF aboard a Tall Ship provides a bonding experience unlike anything most teams ever have the chance to experience. The formation on the boat inspires the team towards great boldness which translates to more effective teaming back on shore.  Availability for this program may be limited depending on a number of factors (e.g. season, location, etc…). This option also can include ongoing team coaching when the team is back on shore over the course of 4-6 months to ensure sustained success.

Eric is an internationally recognized executive coach and keynote speaker. He founded eKCosystem, a global corporate training company dedicated to bringing HUMAN BEING into Business. A senior trainer with the world renowned Coaches Training Institute (CTI), Eric is a pioneer and thought leader in the coaching profession and an expert a program design and delivery. Eric is a Certified Coach (CPCC) with CTI, and has been a Master Certified Coach (MCC) with the International Coaching Federation. He is based in Los Angeles in the United States.

Pim Harder is the Founder of Pim Harder Training and Coaching. Pim combines over 15 years experience and expertise in youth and adult learning and team and organizational development. He creates and facilitates change and development programs for educators, senior managers and leadership teams. He has been a pioneer in introducing coaching in the Dutch education and law enforcement sectors as well as in introducing leadership and team development programs aboard tall ships. Pim is a Certified Professional Coactive Coach (CPCC) and is also certified in the Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching Certification (ORSCC) program. He is based in the Netherlands.
